the memorial records of Warwick, John is mentioned as the 'Baleife' (Bailiff)
of Atherstone. When a town was too
small to have a mayor, the Baleife was the Magistrate who tried the cases. He is also mentioned as selling land. In his will he left land also to his
daughters. His son John died before
him so was not mentioned in his will. |
