John Richard Lambert Walmisley was born on 6 April 1818. He and Marie Augustine Girault were married on 15 August 1841 in St Paul's Church, Covent Garden. Clerk to the Vestry of St John the Evangelist, Smith Square, Westminster (1841-91). Won the Wingfield Sculls and was Amateur Champion of the Thames in 1847 and 1848. Elected a Fellow of the Statistical Society on 21 May 1855. He joined the Artillery Company of London in 1850, rising to be Major Commandant of the 1st London Artillery Volunteer Corps of the 4th Administrative Battalion of the Staffordshire Rifle Volunteers in 1864 and contributed to the success of the London and Westminster Corps; founded the 1st London Artillery Brigade. Marriage to Maria Augustine witnessed by Alexis Simonin and John Eames. Marriage to Alice Workman witnessed by John Walmisley (son) and Lydia Dorothy Richardson. Died of disease of aortic and mitral valves and epilepsy in presence of Alice.
