Biography
Herbert Edward Walmisley was born on 25 March 1895 in 30 Appach Road, Brixton Hill. He and Ida Steel were married on 1 September 1923 in St Philip's, Norbury. He died on 24 December 1977, at age 82, in Wells, Somerset.
A banker at Coutts & Co, ending as Chief Inspector. During the 1914-18 War he was a Lieutenant with the Gurkha Rifles and served in France and on the NW Frontier in India. He and Ida retired to Devon, but moved to Wells in 1970, where they celebrated their Golden Wedding with a luncheon at the White Hart Hotel, Wells. They were congratulated over the air by disc jockey Pete Murray in his Open House programme the day before.
